Since 2006, the Rectorate and the Gender Equality Officer of the University of Greifswald have awarded an annual prize for academic work that incorporates a gender perspective in a particularly notable way. The Gender Prize is endowed with 500 euros. All current academic treatises (BA, MA, diploma dissertations or theses) from the faculties of the University of Greifswald, including University Medicine Greifswald, may submit entries.
Every year, the Faculty of Theology at the University of Greifswald awards the Lydia Study Prize for term papers, dissertations, or Diplom theses with a special focus on the gender perspective. The prize is a book voucher worth 250 euros. The aim of this competition is to encourage the study of gender research in all areas of theology.
