For almost two decades (Fricker 2007), feminist theory has revealed and critiqued the double standard applied to women's testimony. But both public scandals (Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein) and daily news make it plain that public practices and structures have yet to catch up to the problems of testimonial injustice, particularly when the talk is about sexual violence. This talk will both sketch and explain the gap between credibility in theory versus practice, and also discuss the precarity of feminist responses to credibility gaps.
